After living and breathing the corporate world, in 2015 I got hit hard with Post Natal Depression. It changed my life, for the better. After getting well again, I decided to launch EQ Minds, a mental health and wellbeing company.
The light bulb moment: as a global keynote motivational speaker it gives you the ability to extend yourself and your message in a way that isn’t possible with books, podcasts, courses or socials. However you also have to greatly manage your energy - so you don't become exhausted and depleted.
Before you picture that I had a career in acting, or that I am an extrovert, I feel like I have to tell you this: I am an empath, I get overstimulated by light, sound and smells and find shopping malls an assault on my senses. Toxic people also really drain me, so I have to be very mindful of the company that I keep.
So, one of the most important things in my journey was learning how peoples energy impacted me, learning and implementing self-care strategies, how to set boundaries and how to say no kindly to prevent burnout.
I now speak globally and have been rated as one of the best motivational speakers and to be honest speaking has changed my life. Being a mental health ambassador, I get to share a message wide and far impacting the world for the good, I have the flexibility to travel the world with my family….
